Traditional Chinese Modalities

—Cupping, Gua Sha, and Moxibustion—

These modalities can enhance your acupuncture treatment or be used as a standalone service.

Cupping

Cupping uses suction to move fluid and break up muscle adhesions. It’s great for pain management, lung congestion, or sports injuries. You can have marks on the skin afterwards that look like red or purple circles. While they look painful, there should be no discomfort.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is using the burning of mugwort to treat certain types of pain, It can also be used in conjunction with your pregnancy team to help guide a breech baby into position. The skin will be a little red after treatment.
